The hard part of getting packages is not paying for them; it isn't sneaking them in past Vince, it's trying to get them to me through the USPS. I'm sharing this because I'm at the point where I can laugh about it. If there's a time when I want to order a LOT, I will divide it up into several pages because it's less to lose if the package doesn't arrive. I would rather Fed Ex bring my packages ...
The New Charts!
The new market releases have totally dissolved my resolve to not buy anything. I feel like I'm doing a halfway decent job . . considering how many I want to order and how few I've ordered. Most everyone's charts should be available for pre-order at your favorite shops. I saw Teresa Kogut's video with her new charts. I love her work! That video ended my resolve to not buy anything. The one I ...
2024 Finish #5
Almost everything I've finished has been small so it isn't like I've turned into a speedy stitcher with the new year. I'm in Liz Mathews' Patreon (Hello from Liz Mathews). Yesterday she shared a little Valentine chart. This is a part of a larger chart that will be released at the upcoming Nashville Market. I loved it and knew it would fit on the side of This I Know so I stopped working on that ...
Markup RXP
I have been a big fan of Pattern Keeper (cross stitching app) since I found it probably in early 2021. It has some limitations and one that bothers me (and there may be something I don't even know about) but as far as I can see, it tells me how many stitches I've made each day (so long as I'm stitching in the app). I can set the time that I want "today" to end and I think I have it around 3 a.m. ...
Grain Mill and More Bread
This morning I was grinding wheat to make bread and I've been showing Vince the process. I turn the "basket" all the way to where I hear the stones grinding against each other and then back off just a little so as not to damage the stones but still get the finest flour I can get. Vince said "Do you keep an extra set of grinding stones on hand?" Uhh . no! And I'm the one who keeps backup parts for ...
April Fool’s Day Start
Yesterday morning I was upstairs working in the kitchen and while bread dough was rising, I sat down to read email. There was one from Denise about a chart she was thinking about ordering. She would almost get it, then talk herself out of it. She was clearly asking for my help because she knows what a great job I can do in talking her out of ordering something . . NOT! :) I was laughing ...
