While we were in Louisiana, I checked our cameras and it made me think about checking for the night the lightning struck while Vince and I were outside. Because it was 10:40 p.m. and we were getting ready to go to bed, I wasn't dressed for blog pictures so Vince separated out the sound. I hope this works. BEWARE - Vince said a bad word after the boom. I don't know why it says download . . this ...
Strawberry Jam
I mentioned that a friend had picked up two flats of strawberries for me Thursday. We were on our way home from Louisiana so I got them from her Thursday night. Friday I washed and cut up about half of them and put most of them in the fridge. Today I made 5 pints of strawberry rhubarb jam. I should have put a bit of butter in the mix to keep the foam down but I didn't think about it in time ...
And God Saw Progress
I love this project and would sit and work on it all day if I didn't have other stuff that has to be done. It's a big project and it's going to take a while but I think it's so pretty. According to the Markup app, I'm a little over 5% done. That means I still have 95% to go. I don't even mind how long this one will take because it's so fun to stitch. ...
Live and Learn!
The other night Vince and I were watching a movie and a quote was used. "Don't cry because it's over; Smile because it happened." In the movie, it was quoted from Dr. Seuss. That quote hit me because there are so many things in my life that instantly popped into my head. First, I was so in love with a guy in college and it didn't work out. I was really sad about it for a long time but, of ...
The New Fridge
I didn't get the fridge I wanted but I knew from the way Vince was talking last night, that was not the fridge we would get. Vince found a GE fridge at Lowe's in Carthage that he wanted but we have a similar GE in the garage (it came from the Texas sewing room) and the handles on these bins crack easily. Vince is a bit rough with things and both handles were cracked within the first year. I ...
A New Fridge
The garage fridge has died . . not totally dead yet but for all practical purposes, it might as well be gone. The temp inside the fridge is 56 degrees. The freezer part still works but the fridge is 21 years old so we're probably not going to try to fix it. For at least two weeks before we left to go out of town, I kept complaining about milk and cream and sour cream. They were going bad way ...
