First, you’ve probably noticed there’s no post from Vince again this morning. He said he would post something next week . . he’s still not feeling back to 100%.
I know that he’s just trying to be helpful but he actually spends more time on the internet than I do. When he comes across something he thinks I’ll like, he’ll subscribe me and then I start getting emails in my inbox. Sometimes . . it’s more than one per day. I really only subscribe to a few blogs and not even to many yarn shop updates any more. There was a time when I seemed to be getting so much of that stuff and I never read it so I spent what seemed like forever unsubbing from everything. Even now, I end up getting things that I am pretty sure I never subscribed to receive but then . . there’s the helpful husband.
The other morning I woke up to an email thanking me for subscribing to something for women over 60 or maybe it was 55 . . I can’t remember.
Me: Did you subscribe me to some email list?
Me: But, don’t you remember I asked you not to do that?
Vince: Yes, but I thought you’d like it.
Me: From now on, would you please just email me the link to anything you think I might like and I’ll decide, ok?
Vince: Sure . .
But I doubt he was really sure.
Friday morning, I woke up to this email from that group because I had meant to unsub and hadn’t yet.
That prompted another conversation:
Me: Do you know what I got from that group you just subscribed me to?
Me: Advice about how and when to get a divorce after 60. Is that the kind of advice you thought I needed?
Vince: No. You should probably unsubscribe.
Yes! I think that’s a good idea.
