Things are so close to getting about halfway organized around here. I can find things but it takes a while. We’ve been living in this house for 5 months and it really makes me wonder what’s in those hundreds of boxes out there that we haven’t needed any of it for 5 months!
Last week I began searching for my two needle bags. All my circular needles are in those bags. See . . it just doesn’t pay me to try to get organized. If they hadn’t all been in one spot, they wouldn’t ALL have been lost. At some point . . maybe during Eat, Sleep, Knit‘s Black Friday sale, I had ordered the Knit Picks Interchangeable needles and had never used them. Couldn’t find those either. For the past few days I’ve searched and searched for all those needles. Last night I opened a drawer and found the interchangeable set. This morning, I happened to notice the bags with the circular needles.
There they were . . all my circular needles.
Both containers had been stacked up on my quilt rack in the bedroom and had fallen between the rails and with quilts hanging over the rails, I couldn’t see the containers on the floor.
Before May 1, and Mad May starts, I’d like to get these three pairs of socks finished.
One sock done, I might can turn the heel on these tonight and then have just the foot left to finish.
These are the socks I’m making for the wife of the man who worked on Chad’s truck. I could have this sock finished tonight . . maybe . . probably not.
This pair will take the longest since this is as much as I have done but at least they’re plain Jane socks and don’t require any thinking. Not counting today, there are 6 days left til May 1. I’m pretty sure I can get the first two pairs finished but this third pair . . maybe not. I’ll do my best . . that’s all I can ask of me, right? 🙂

Love the socks…..I am self taught to knit them….I think I need a better teacher??? Hahahahahahaha I don’t know I keep starting and stopping and my socks just don’t look right??? Maybe I should try tube socks? Maybe I should fire the current teacher (LOL) and take a class??? I do know I just love the yarn…..maybe I should just couch more of it on my quilts 🙂 That might be MY ultimate answer.
PS thanks for getting the book off to me soooo fast. As I get older and slower you continue to amaze me 🙂 Looking forward to using your book!!

I am so glad you found your needles! I knew as soon as you stopped looking for them……. 😉
I love the mechanic’s wife’s socks! Is this the Simple Skyp pattern?
Peggy in Virginia says
Love these colors. I’m not a mechanic or married to one but love these.

I just finished knitting the Simple Skyp sock and I love them! I have already cast on another Skyp pair. Great pattern!

I love the brown and blue and gold ones, both the pattern and the colours. What pattern, and what yarn? I see that you are using ONLine yarn for the striped one. I just finished a pair using this yarn and find them scratchy on my feet. Have you used this yarn before, and do you like it? Does it soften with washing?
Sandy (full of questions — sorry!)

That’s how we find things around here. We buy replacements. 100% of the time we will find what we had lost after we have new ones…. whatever it is. LOL!

That’s a lot of sock knitting.
But, then there’s a number of hours between now and the first.
Sending you best of luck
