The way I do my stash report is:
- I count the fabric for the top once the top is finished.
- I count the backing fabric after the top is quilted.
- I count the binding fabric after the quilt is bound.
For yarn, I count the yarn after the project is finished.
You can count yours any way you want. In the end, we’re doing this to achieve our own personal goals. There are no stash reporting police!
Since my friend is using mostly fabric from my stash for her deer quilt, we’re using a good bit. I have finished my top and that used 7 yards. I have the backing but the quilt isn’t quilted yet.
Also, I pieced the backing for the donation quilt and that was 4 yards. The binding was provided by the lady who sent the quilt top.
That’s a total of 11 yards out. Yay! That broke the record for all of 2016, probably 2015 too and maybe 2014. I’m happy!
Fabric Used this Week: 11 yards
Fabric Used year to Date: 11 yards
Fabric Added this Week: 0 yards
Fabric Added Year to Date: 0 yards
Net Fabric for 2017: 11 yards used
On the knitting front, I finished the cat yarn socks and that’s 300 yards to report. Nothing was added.
That’s not all! I had yarn to make a hat and socks for Addie and my friend’s granddaughter. My friend said “I can make the ones for my granddaughter. We will do them together.” So I wound her a skein of Lorna’s Laces Shepherd Worsted for the hat and a skein of Lorna’s Laces Shepherd Sock for the socks and that is 655 yards out for a total out this week of 955 yards.
Yarn Used (or removed) this Week: 955 yards
Yarn Used year to Date: 2,655 yards
Yarn Added this Week: 0 yards
Yarn Added Year to Date: 0 yards
Net Yarn for 2017: 2,655 yards

I’m less than a yard behind you. I’m happy too with the numbers, although I don’t such a great quilt to show for it.
Congrats on your finish.
