Last night as I was stitching, I knew both dogs were sitting on my lap but I cracked up when I looked down and saw Cooper. Almost all the time, Cooper sleeps on his back with his feet up in the air. There he was, sleeping on his back with his nose up in the air. He's the funniest, sweetest little dog. Oscar still surprises me with how kind and tolerant he is with Cooper. ...
Kombucha
My poor kombucha scoby has been neglected for months. I left it sitting in a batch of fermenting tea and I think once I added fresh tea. Look how thick it grew to be. Monday I made fresh tea, pulled off a good size piece of the scoby and have it brewing up some fresh kombucha. Probably tomorrow I'll bottle it and start another fresh batch because the "starter" was pretty sour. ...
Queen of Leftovers
Every time I post about using leftovers, someone will tell me they don't like leftovers or their husband doesn't like leftovers. You may not believe this but I don't like leftovers if it's "just" leftovers. Take roast beef for example. I don't like reheated roast beef as far as sliced or chunks over rice or potatoes. Today’s Top Priority!
We came home Thursday. I was sure that by noon on Friday, I'd have lettuce planted in the inside growing area. Nope . . still haven't done it. Today I will get two trays of lettuce planted and hopefully a few more things. Yesterday I finished cleaning and chopping the rest of the strawberries. Except for the ones I held out to make more strawberry rhubarb jam, the strawberries are all now in ...
The Lighting Strike Sound
While we were in Louisiana, I checked our cameras and it made me think about checking for the night the lightning struck while Vince and I were outside. Because it was 10:40 p.m. and we were getting ready to go to bed, I wasn't dressed for blog pictures so Vince separated out the sound. I hope this works. BEWARE - Vince said a bad word after the boom. I don't know why it says download . . this ...
Strawberry Jam
I mentioned that a friend had picked up two flats of strawberries for me Thursday. We were on our way home from Louisiana so I got them from her Thursday night. Friday I washed and cut up about half of them and put most of them in the fridge. Today I made 5 pints of strawberry rhubarb jam. I should have put a bit of butter in the mix to keep the foam down but I didn't think about it in time ...
