I have debated about whether to post this because you will all think I’m really crazy but then I figured . . you all KNOW I’m crazy so why not post it?
I may have mentioned a while back that I could not find the project bag for Winter Rose Manor. I have it started, haven’t worked on it in a while but a few months back, I wanted to work on it and the chart was nowhere to be found. I considered ordering a new chart but I was also missing the floss and I had changed some of the colors and the notes were with the chart and I knew the floss was with the chart too so I pretty much forgot about it. I knew I had labeled some storage containers with MONTHLY PROJECTS, WIPS1, KITS1 and KITS2 and, at the time, I couldn’t find any of those. How hard is it to lose four plastic bins? For me . . pretty easy!
This morning I was looking for a quilt to put on the downstairs bed. I’m ready for spring and found spring quilts for the upstairs beds but there was one specific quilt I was looking for to go on the downstairs bed. I had put a storage ottoman on one side of the bed and had stacked about 30 quilts up on top of it to keep the dogs from falling off the bed. I had forgotten that on top of the storage ottoman were storage bins covered with quilts so as I was digging through the quilts, I unearthed the storage bins!

I had already opened and gone through the “Monthly Projects” bin so there are three of the bins. It has been well over a year since I built that “wall” so monthly projects did not get monthly attention!
What’s in the Monthly Projects bin? How do I intend to proceed from here? My plan is to try to get at least most of these finished by the end of this year. I will list them in the order I hope to finish them.
Winter Rose Manor:

This is by Brenda Gervais/With Thy Needle. I think just about every cross Stitcher has finished this one. I’m not sure when this one came out but it was fairly soon after I started stitching again that I saw it and EVERYONE was stitching it. I think it was Lori Holt who I first saw with a Hobby Lobby frame that was so pretty with it so I bought that frame, the chart, the fabric, the floss and have no excuse for not getting this one done.

I think I started this one on March 17, 2023 and wrote about it in this blog post. I’m pretty confident I can get this one finished by the end of the year – maybe even fully finished if I stay on track.
The Lord’s Prayer:
This one was started on October 1, 2023 and I wrote about it in this blog post.

I worked on this one a few weeks ago and mentioned that even though I have the paper chart, I saw that Lila’s Studio has a PDF for this chart so I purchased that instead of copying my paper chart and making a PDF. Lila’s Studio’s PDFs are perfect with Markup XP.

I have the hard part of this one done. I stitched enough of the words and parts of the words to know they’re all going to fit fine in the cartouche. I thought I had made a mistake but, from reading an old blog post, I may have found it and fixed it. Who knows what I did?
There shouldn’t be any problems with getting this one finished this year.
Rejoice Evermore:
Seems as though a sweet little dog destroyed my paper copy but, thankfully, I have it on my tablet. This is what it will look like:

I have a good bit done on this one and I think I should be able to easily get it finished well before the end of the year.

Live on Little:
Here’s the picture of the finished piece from the chart cover.

I love the chart, but I struggled a bit with the verse. Don’t get me wrong . . we are NOT weathy, but when I think of how we live, I don’t consider that we live on “little” because there are so many who live on less. And, because we grew up in a time where things were different. We learned to save. We learned to work hard. We learned that debt was not good. I’m not saying that people who have debt have done things wrong but it is very difficult for young families, even with two incomes, to pay car notes, house notes, day care, health care expenses, utilities, insurance, etc. I know it is very hard for many people financially now and I just had a hard time saying that we live on little. Again, there’s a huge percentage of people who live on way more than we do and they would probably think we live on little but I couldn’t, in all honesty, say that. So, I left out the live on little part and instead of “live on little” said “live every day”

I have a very long way to go on this one. Will it be finished by the end of the year? I hope so but I’m not saying definitely yes. Those houses and the water are very stitch heavy, and there’s a lot of fill in to be done in the border but I love this piece.
And Heaven & Nature Sing:

I must have started this one in 2021 because in a January, 2022 blog post, I had about this same amount done.

Once the deer is done, the rest of this one should be fairly quick. Don’t remind me that I said that please! 🙂 I may try to have this one done before Christmas, 2025. Hope springs eternal, right?
Three Things Sampler:

I started this on New Year’s Eve, 2022. I had planned to only do part of it but the more I see it, the more I love it all. If I’m remembering correctly, I don’t have enough fabric to do it all so I may re-evaluate my plans. I can’t remember exactly what I had planned to do but I’m sure it’s in the blog. I would love to finish this by New Year’s Eve, 2025. Again . . hope springs eternal!

I love the linen and I love the floss colors. We’ll see where it goes.
Mary Ellen Turner:

Another one with not much stitched.

Maybe I’m crazy but I think I can get this one finished by the end of the year too. If I don’t, it’s ok. But if I can, I’d be really happy.
And Be Kind to One Another:

It’s not as big as it looks – long but not wide. It’s only about 5-1/4″ x 21″ on 36 count. I’m not even sure what linen I’m using. And, letters go quickly.

I’ll give it my best shot.
There are two more charts with linen and floss in the bin that were not yet started. I do not plan to start those in 2025.
I will be having at least a few other new starts this year so it will be interesting when December 31 rolls around to see how much I’ve accomplished.

If you can get all those done by the end of the year, even without new starts. I will admit that you are Wonder Woman. By the way, how is Mender And Maker going? I still have to finish the bush on the right side and all the little doodads on the left. I hope to be done by the end of the month.

I’m not finished but am hoping to finish it by the end of March.

It’s “almost” like opening Christmas presents!!

It really is. It’s surprising how many memories are in those project bags. Even if I never finish any of them, they all still make me happy.

As I read this post, I thought, ‘she must not be going to garden and preserve this year’! Sorry to not sound very optimistic. I do wish you well/success. Oh, pay no attention to me…. I’m just finally binding the Shipshewana mystery quilt!! Keep at it and good luck!

Yes, there will be a garden. Cooler weather things are already planted. Tomatoes, peppers, etc. are started in cups in the greenhouse. You know I never get everything done that I think I will get done but I will give it my best shot.
