Yesterday a very nice reader who has also been my friend for a good, long while, wrote me to ask if I wanted to stitch Maker and Mender with her.

It isn’t big. It’s 178 wide x 128 high. On 36 count, it would be 9-7/8 x 7. Of course, you can use any count linen, Aida, or whatever you like.
My friend and I both plan to use Vikki Clayton Silks from our stashes. The called for floss:
- 2 DMC
- 2 Weeks Dyeworks
- 2 Classic Colorworks
- 2 Gentle Arts
Of course, you could use any floss you wish.
The chart is available at Colorado Cross Stitcher and other shops I’m sure.
Our plan is to start on March 1. As always, there are no deadlines. Work at your own speed and finish whenever you finish. There’s no sign up but you’re welcome to comment about it any tim.

I have that chart and I must have bought the VCS pack for it (because I came across a silk I was using not long ago that had a note return to the “Maker Mender” bag). I haven’t started stitching on that project yet and need to find some fabric. But March 1 will give me time to find all the silk flosses I may have grabbed to use for other projects and get them back to where they belong so I’ll be starting along with you. 🙂

My daughter (who also reads your blog) gifted a finished and framed Maker and Mender to me in 2023. I absolutely love it and it hangs where I see it everyday. Enjoy!
