The cross stitch shop in Granby, MO posted on FB yesterday that they had gotten in some Nurge framers and I wanted one (or two) so I asked Vince if he would mind going over there this morning. I had to agree to eat at the Chinese restaurant in Neosho, which I did . . it’s give and take, you know!
It’s a very small shop but such a nice, well stocked shop and we are so lucky to have it close. I know there are larger shops but farther away and With Needle & Thread will get anything we ask for . . probably reasonable requests and not crazy requests. I told Vince . . that’s my happy place and I want you to see it.
We walked in and I said “Look at all the samples/models.” There were a lot of Cottage Garden animals and houses; and a good bit of Prairie Schooler pieces. Vince looked at them and he had a puzzled look on his face. He looked at me like he had a question or was confused. I said “What’s wrong?” He kind whispered to me “These don’t have letters!” Then I was puzzled. He said “Everything you stitch has letters. I don’t think I’ve ever seen anything without words or letters.”
I looked at the pieces I have waiting to be fully finished and he’s right, almost everything I’ve stitched has letters or words or messages.
There are a few things that don’t have words but not many.
It was a good reminder to me that our reality is what we know, what we’ve most often experienced but that doesn’t mean there’s not a lot more out there than what we know about – in all aspects of life – not just cross stitching.

So did you get the frames?

I didn’t mean to say frames . . it was Nurge hoops I went for and I did get two of those.

I really like the Nurge hoops. I had a hard time stitching in hand – these have really helped!

Thanks for that review. I love stitching in hand but had to give it up probably a year or more ago because of aching hands. The Nurge hoops will fit in the Lowery stand and in the new stand I’ve ordered. It’s so much easier to put things in and out of a hoop than it is to put them in and out of a scroll frame and since I have way too many WIPs, having frames to use has become a problem so I hope this helps.

Thank you. I need to stop stitching for a few days and get some of those fully finished.

I stitched several samplers when my husband and I first were married. He said he didn’t want ABC’s on every wall of the house.
