A Trip to Town

I had an eye doctor appointment in town today. Vince was busy staining the fence so I went to town alone, which so rarely happens. I didn’t even really need anything or have anywhere else I needed to go except I wanted to try to find a small turkey to try to cook using the sous vide. This is what I want to try, but I want to try it before Thanksgiving so I don’t ruin Thanksgiving Dinner! I was able to find one that was just a bit over 13 pounds. I was hoping for about 10 pounds. It’s in the fridge defrosting now and I’m guessing it will be Wednesday or Thursday before I can start cooking it. They had pork cutlets for making chicken fried pork cutlets and I was starving at the moment. That sounded really good . . with a baked sweet potato, so I bought those but Vince said he was going to work on the fence til almost dark and I didn’t want to eat that much food that late so we’ll have the pork tomorrow . . unless he works on the fence til dark! : )

Vince wanted me to get him a quart of cream that he uses in his coffee. Tell me why he won’t use the cream we get from the milkman! We get two gallons of milk per week and I end up with about two quarts of cream from those two gallons. Vince had asked me to get him two quarts of cream but Walmart only had one quart and it was $4.98. I asked Vince tonight why he doesn’t use the cream from the milk we get. He said it doesn’t seem as thick but since the cream at the store was up to $4.98 and since we have it here anyway, he said he’ll start using it.

Vince is now watching football, Oscar seems to be sleeping so hopefully I can make a few stitches before bed time.
