Almost every time I see a call from Chad, I giggle to myself a bit because I never know what he’s going to say and about 99% of the time, whatever he has to discuss is a total and complete surprise because he and I just do not think alike and that’s probably a good thing for both of us.
He told me he had found a vehicle he wanted to buy so he and his buddy were taking the trailer and going up to Kansas City to get it.
He has big plans for this thing. They took it to his friend’s shop and they’ve done some work on it. While it isn’t ready for driving, they did get it to where Chad could drive it home yesterday.
Chad is going back out of town to work and wanted to get it out of his friend’s shop before he leaves.
He loves that it’s four wheel drive and he thinks he can make it into a camper. He and a friend will do some body work on it and paint it but getting it running good is the first step.
Chad loves old vehicles and I think getting my grandpa’s old pickup has added fuel to the fire. Some day, he may look back and laugh at these crazy ideas he has.

I think this is a great idea! There are a lot of people doing this. Usually it is the larger vans, but this has potential! If he likes to camp, and I think you said he does, this is better than sleeping on the ground! And he can carry all his gear in this!

That’s something we would have done back in the 80s if we’d had 2 nickels to rub together 😉 Yea Chad. Frugal living yields great times!!!!!

Is that vehicle of Chad’s a really old Suburban? Hope he’s faster at restoration than my hubby…..20 yrs. to restore his ’55 Chevy station wagon.

Yes, it’s an old Suburban. I forget what year – 78 maybe. I don’t know when Chad is going to work on it but it makes him happy and that makes me happy.
