One of the things I want to do before this day is over is decide on a project I can take along for when I’ll have some down time but will not have a magnifier.
This is Love is in the Air by Blackbird Designs and inside the cover, it says “Three Stockings for February” so I’m assuming these are for Valentine’s Day. The called for fabric is 30 count. I should be able to see that without a magnifier but I’ll have to pull some and see.
I’m thinking that since I told Addie I’d make her something for every holiday, and since Valentine’s Day is next, and since I’ve made her three pillows (once I finish Christmas which will happen tomorrow or Wednesday), a little stocking might be nice. It says to make a beaded hanger so she could hang it on her doorknob, closet door knob, wall . . where ever she wants to hang it. I could get some dried flowers or more sturdy for a 9 year old fake flowers of some sort and put in there. I will have to do it on the 30 count linen because it’s small as it is and I don’t want it to be any smaller.
My other option is one of the Prairie Schooler Santas. I am not a fan of stitching on linen that’s lower count than 36 count but there’s no way I can see the holes without a magnifier so I’ll either have to stitch on 32 (maybe!) or 30 count linen. I may have 28 count lugana and I think I’d like that better than 30 or 32 count linen.
I need to go downstairs and see what I can find.

I always use magnifying glasses when I do close work, they really work well.

I have some 4.0 readers that I can use on a 28 or 30 count linen but they don’t help me much on 40 count. 🙁
I’m seeing the optometrist on Wednesday and hoping he can figure out something.

For Addie the stocking for Valentine’s Day would be different and they are so pretty. Bet she would like that.

That’s what I decided to do. 🙂
