If I had a dime for every time I tell myself I’m going to do better, I’d be a rich woman! I don’t think most of you would believe how much I’ve looked for this Winds of Autumn booklet this evening. That’s ALL I’ve done! I kept telling Vince . . if I hadn’t seen it in weeks, I wouldn’t be so baffled by this but I had it TODAY so where ever I put it, it cannot be buried so it has to be hiding in plain sight.
I have been downstairs, upstairs, downstairs so much that Boots is looking at me like I’ve lost my mind. I’ve heard cats are pretty intuitive. 🙂
Here’s one conversation Vince and I had:
Me: When I came upstairs and showed you the book, where were we standing? Were we in the garage or the living room?
Vince: I think you showed it to me downstairs.
Me: Really? I thought I brought it up to show you.
Score one for me!
Later, we had this conversation:
Vince: I think you were standing right there when you showed it to me (at the top of the stairs – totally different from what he said before!).
Me: Where did I go after I showed it to you?
Vince: I don’t know.
I had emptied out three boxes that had been in Addie’s room so earlier today I brought those out for Vince to burn. I asked him if he burned those, thinking maybe it accidentally got dropped in one of those boxes. What if . . I placed the book on top and it slid into what he thought was an empty box? He told me they were in the garage so I went out and dug through those. Not there.
I had kitted a few projects today and dug all those bags out, thinking maybe I accidentally put it in with another project. Nope.
I looked at 123 Stitch thinking I might just forget about it and order another one. $27. No! Not doing that.
Vince got out of the shower and I said “Do you think in the morning you could get that bag of trash out of the big can and let me go through that?” He said he would. I was hoping he would go do it tonight but knew it was doubtful since he’d already had his shower and I wasn’t about to ask.
I took my shower and then was picking up the living room.
The lid was off the storage ottoman so I picked it up to put it back on the ottoman and . .
There was Winds of Autumn under the lid! I was so happy to find that thing. I guess I had Winds of Autumn on the floor where I had other charts to kit up, then when I started to put the others in the ottoman, I tossed the lid down and it landed on top of the Winds of Autumn chart or . . someone came in while we were gone and covered up Winds of Autumn! 🙂 No — that didn’t happen. I carelessly put that lid on top of it and then wasted the entire evening looking for it.
Vince said “Thank goodness I don’t have to go retrieve that bag out of the bottom of that nasty trash can!” Yep .. thank goodness!

I’ve noticed that when I can’t find something, I just start to put everything away in its proper place, and lo, and behold! I find what I am looking for, either in the mess, or already in its proper place. Then I can look around at how clean the room is too.

Glad you found it!! I thought it was a good thing Vince didn’t bring back the garbage so you could go through that! 😀
