Why do I make plans? Beats me!
Yesterday Chad, Nicole and Addie came to Joplin to buy groceries at Aldi. Chad called and said “We’re in a rush but we’re going to stop by your house and drop off the cooler we borrowed.” They had been in Joplin without a cooler, wanted to buy some meat so Vince gave them one of our coolers to use.
You may remember that I told Addie when I finished Love Your Family, if I had time, I’d make her a Thanksgiving pillow and then make her a Christmas pillow. I hadn’t forgotten about it but I was kinda thinking I could get by with just making a Christmas pillow since it’s almost Thanksgiving.
I showed Nicole the Love Your Family piece and Addie said “Don’t forget you owe me a Thanksgiving pillow!” I told her it may not happen this year and she was ok with that but I wasn’t. I told her I’d do it and I’m going to do it. The good news is that I won’t see her til the Tuesday before Thanksgiving so that gives me almost 10 days to get it stitched and sewed together.
It has a lot of colors and I know I don’t have them all but I’ll do the best I can. So . . this is Sunday but again, I will not be stitching on my Sunday Stitch piece. I’ll be making good on waht I told Addie I would do.

It’s so cute! You’ll be able to stitch it up in no time.

The way you do the little things like the Thanksgiving pillow for Addie will always hold a special place in her heart in the years to come. It won’t take much time for you to do it, but she will absolutely love it, I’m sure!

Mainly, in my mind, I told her I would do it so taking the time to do it hopefully teaches her that we should always do what we say we will do.

I agree with Deb E. My thought was the same. In 30 years, Addi will look back and her pillows and cherish them. Hopefully, she will decorate her home with them. 🙂
