I see Addie tomorrow so I had to get that pillow made today. This is the first time I’ve made a pillow of any kind in probably at least 30 years.
I had planned to put black trim around it but Addie asked for orange. I told her I’d use orange if I had it but I didn’t think I had any orange. I was looking for backing fabric that would go with black chenille trim. If you remember my quilting days, about 99.99% of the fabrics I used were tone on tone or solid-ish and I hardly have any prints. This was the only Halloween print I could find and it’s a bit bright but might have been ok with black trim.
I found this one and had decided to use it with black trim. When I went to the closet to dig out the trim, the first one I saw was orange pom poms. Didn’t remember that I had that.
That would make her happy so . . back to the stash to find a better backing fabric.
This one worked!
I present . . my first cross stitch piece finished into a little pillow. It’s about 5″ square.
I think it’s so cute an I think she will love it!
So absolutely adorable. It will make her day!

I agree, a win pulled out of the closet.

So, SO SWEET!! That first fabric had too much red in it, and there was none in the cross stitch work. Your orange pom-pom trim and backing fabric look perfect with the cat, pumpkin, and mouse!

I think she will treasure it for ever, it’s just too cute!!

That is so cute. Your girl will just love it and will probably go right in the middle of her bed. And I bet she will want to take it home. Love it!!
And I’m not surprised at what incentive kept you going all the way with that!
Very cute. You did a great job.
Thanks. It was fun to do but by the time I’m done stitching, it’s hard to do the finishing. I’m ready to move on to something else. Kinda like binding a quilt I suppose – once I was finished with the piecing and quilting, I was ready to start something else.
To cute, did you stuff it or find a pillow form that small?
I stuffed it with poly fiberfill.
