Today I’ve had several emails/messages from ladies who are blaming me (jokingly) for them starting to cross stitch .. one for the first time and several who did it years ago and have picked it up again. I read those messages to Vince and he’s decided he’s going to start a subscription service for husbands. He will charge a fee and somehow, Vince will keep me from causing their wives to spend money. Vince said “You’re probably costing husbands a lot!” I wanted to say “None more than you!” but figured that was best left as a thought in my head.
Hmm . . not at all sure I’d invest in Vince’s new venture but I suppose if it kept him busy for a while, it might be worth it.
So . . ladies, do not let your husbands talk to my husband!
Elle says
Remind Vince many of us have earned plenty of $ and are likely not “costing our husbands” a dime. Not a single year of our marriage did my spouse make near what I did……until I retired.
Judy Laquidara says
I think he was more joking than serious.

I’ve started cross stitching now because of you lol! I have not cross stitched before so I watched a ton of floss tubes and I have started a Black Bird Designs, have purchased a kit and another chart is on the way. I love watching Saltbox stitcher and the Country Stitchers. I’m still quilting but that is out in the shop, I can sit in the house and cross stitch at night. I bought a kit for my daughter also, she is out of school for summer so she will probably start hers next week.
Judy Laquidara says
I hope you and your daughter love it!

Honestly, I found cross stitch very boring, and once I discovered quilting I dropped cross stitching like a hot potato! I don’t imagine I’ll spend much at all… I just want to finish up this kit I started over 25 years ago. I’m closing my quilting business this fall so after the holidays I plan on getting back to seriously working on my quilts again. And cross stitching will once again go back in the closet.

I’m trying to start cross stitching again. Mostly because of you and Denise. I’ve kept a lot of my old supplies and have been wanting to get back to it. Y’all just gave me the push I needed. One of the old ones that I’d really like to finish is a stained glass piece. And I just bought two smaller charts, a Quilt Shop and a Church. I just hope these old eyes and fingers will let me stitch.
Judy Laquidara says
I can’t do it without a magnifying light and on cold mornings, my fingers are stiff so I’ll enjoy it as long as I can. Good luck . . hope your eyes and fingers cooperate.
Vicky in Bama says
Because of you and Jo Kramer I am back at it after a 4o+ year absence. Not sure why I waited so long to get back to it. Life I suppose. I really love the patterns they have now. I am trying to work my way onto linen.
Judy Laquidara says
That’s about how long I was out of it too and, while I wish I had started sooner so I could have collected more designs, I’m happy we’re all back at it again.

I just want to say that as many treasures that you have makes me not feel guilty about all my treasures. It is like you said we do not eat out very often, I do not go get beautified very often, I don’s smoke or drink. I seldom change decor in my house SO I feel ok about my treasures.
Twyla says
And what I spend on my treasures in so very small to what he spends on his toy trains and ’55 stationwagon,.

We spend little bits here and there , hubby’s go for the big big things to buy
Susan Nixon says
I can guarantee that if Paul is talking to Vince, someone has a screw loose. LOL Besides I’m definitely never taking up cross stitch.
Judy Laquidara says
Yes . . that will not happen and if it does, I’m not mentioning it! 🙂

I really miss Vincent’s post he use to do. Maybe get him back to doing that for us. he had lots of good thigs to say. Now as for husbands banning together he’d better stay away from that. We women might use a fake name and join just to see what’s said so you can well you know…… I know he was just kidding…
