That’s what I keep telling myself . . keep your mouth shut and smile! 🙂
We’ve had this house since the first week in August. Neither fan in the extra upstairs bedrooms works. Nine months . . so hard to believe but we’ve had it nine months. I wasn’t concerned about neither fan working. Addie will probably never want her fan on and with paperwork everywhere, I doubt Vince will use the one much in his office.
Addie comes most every weekend. Tuesday Vince said “Let’s take the bed down in Addie’s room so I can put the ladder there to get to the fan. I’m sure it needs a new capacitor.” I said “Fans are cheap . . can’t we just get a new one?” Nope, a $25 part will fix it. We took the bed apart, took the fan down, got the part number and ordered two of them. Then, they weren’t going to be here next week so Vince said “We can’t get Addie this weekend because her room is torn up!” I said “We can and she can sleep in the basement and find things to play with not in her room. We were at Sam’s yesterday. Vince has been to Home Depot this week. He was at Walmart this morning.
The capacitor came today and that’s not the problem with the fan. I will leave in less than an hour to go get Addie. Vince is gone to Lowe’s in Carthage to get a new fan. He was looking online at them and he said “There’s one at Sam’s.” I wanted to say “We were there yesterday!” but I didn’t say anything.
I asked him not to try to put the fan up til I get back. Want to bed that when I get back, the fan will at least be partially up?? Men!
Now we’ve spent $25 x 2 for capacitors and he’s only paying $89 for the fan and if we had bought the fan in the first place, it would have been up and the bedroom put back together before Addie got here.
Worse, all my overdyed floss is hanging in Addie’s closet and I dare not go in there for fear of him seeing it all! So, four days and I can’t go look to see if I have “Green with Envy” that I need for a project! 🙂
If it had been up to me, and if it mattered if there were working fans in those two rooms, I would have called an electrician to change them both out and been done with it but . . I’m not Vince!

Oh my , they are all the same , how scarey. 2 friends were nodding heads when I said my husband can open drawers but his brain doesn’t compute to close them completely after, before I could say it’s the same with his wardrobe door they are nodding furiously and we laughed. Better with than without. So we say nothing and add close wardrobe door, close chest of drawers followed by his desk drawer to our routine in the morning. As I’m addicted to xstitch charts & Fabric he is to Anything with a Plug! . Except I can hide my away easier so feel pious! Just love him.

Well…maybe it is the capacitor in his room. But as you said, would he ever use it?

The blades were loose and hanging up on something. He tightened the blades and that’s all his needed. Addie’s is toast . . been replaced and all is good. We do have a couple of pieces of exercise equipment in the office so IF anyone ever uses that, a fan would be nice.

Paul put up my $59 fan up in the bedroom where there never was one before, took him about 90 minutes, ’cause he’d never done one, and I’ve been very happy. We still need some shims to level it, but it works as is, and fixing the car comes first.
