Almost every day, I say to Vince . . Don’t forget to dig up the clothesline poles! Last night it rained a lot so he figured the ground would be easier to dig so he started trying to dig them up.
I’m not real sure what part the swivel chair played in digging up a pole but . . who am I to question this project?
He said (insert colorful language): I must have never planned to leave because these things are in the ground to stay forever!
He got one out but had to call a friend who is coming to help with the other one. This could be fun to watch because those two together . . no telling what might happen.
Considering that Vince complained about my yarn because he was paying by the pound to move it, I’m wondering if he’s going to leave all that concrete on the poles or if he’s going to try to chip any of it off . . but I am not asking, nor am I reminding him that he’s paying by the pound.
Ruth says
Why not buy and install new poles at the new house?
Judy Laquidara says
We tried buying them when we moved to MO in 2006 and couldn’t find them anywhere. We ended up having to pay a welder to make them and that makes them way more expenive to buy than to move.
Susan says
Okay, never mind then. I didn’t realize they were so rare.
Janet Bland says
He will probably put them in the pickup so he won’t have to pay the movers rate.
Judy Laquidara says
Not sure what he’ll do.
Teri says
I have that same lawn mower! Works great after maybe 20 years! Are you taking it?
Donna in KS says
Oh, how I wish we could have clotheslines! I laugh about the “green” and “save energy” stuff when someone, somewhere decided that these new developments should not allow nature’s help in drying. We should use the wind and sun energy as it was intended! This coming from a woman who said she would never live where others told her what she could/could not do or have!! Kinda like the red flag man?!!
Judy Laquidara says
We all do things we said we would never do. I said I would never live with close neighbors but here we are.
Susan Nixon says
Paying by the pound sounds expensive! Are clothesline poles that costly that it’s worth all that work and expense to bring them?
