It’s hard to believe I haven’t seen Addie since Thanksgiving day. I think that’s the longest I’ve gone without seeing her since I’ve been here. There were some Covid issues. She and Nicole both had to get tested. Thankfully that came back negative. Then Nicole had to get tested again . . another negative and, bless her heart, she got exposed again and had to be tested a third time and that was also negative so with negative tests this week, there’s no guarantee but I’m going to get her today and she’ll stay with me til Chad gets back in town, which I’ve heard 12/21 and I’ve heard 12/23 so we’ll just play it by ear.
It’s a horribly windy day here and I’m not anxious to be driving but I’ve driven on worse days.
Chad and Nicole got Addie a basketball goal for Christmas and it was supposed to be delivered next week but Chad called and said it was bring delivered today so I have to run by their house, wrap it up in a blanket so Addie doesn’t see it, then go pick her up, then come back to their house for her to pick up everything she wants to bring to my house.
The Christmas party at school is today and there’s also one at her after school care so she’ll probably be on a sugar high, and probably not even hungry. I had told her we would get sushi this afternoon but I was planning to pick her up earlier but with her after school care party, it will probably be close to dark by the time we get back towards home so we’ll fix something here . . if she’s hungry.
We have big plans – she has several recipes she wants to teach me to make and I have a couple of things I want to make with her. Also, I told her she could decorate my tree when I was thinking I’d see her before now but every time I talk to her, she wants to make sure I haven’t decorated the tree so . . the tree is waiting for her magic touch!
I’m looking forward to spending time with her.
