Today’s big accomplishment, though not very big at all, was getting barriers up to keep Rita off the carpet. In Texas, she goes to the door and grunts when she needs to go out. Here, that seems to be a bit too much trouble and with there being more room and her being able to get farther away from us, she’s confined to the kitchen/breakfast room area til she learns the new rules. Having her on hardwood isn’t my preference but that’s my only choice.
The large opening between the breakfast room and living room was a bit more of a problem. The barricade I got ends up not matching any of the wood in the house but it does what it needs to do.
The last one isn’t here yet. It’s for the stairs just in case she’s not in the kitchen.
For now, boxes will have to do.

Can you please fill us in on what happened to Cat & Boots…..D.

We finally had to put down puppy pads for Rose. I got the extra large ones just in case she missed. I just made a trail of them! I was buying them at tractor supply where they are cheaper. That saves rugs and wood!

It’s an adjustment for her. Can you put her on a leash and walk her from her major areas to the door a few thousand times? So she gets the route in her head, maybe?

We brought the rugs from the Texas house so she has a path from the kitchen/dining area to the door that we’re trying to mostly go out but we spend more time in the basement and that throws everything off. I think she’ll “get” it once we’re here full time and we have more of a routine. Right now, we don’t even know what we’re doing and can’t expect her to know what we’re doing.
