I think I slept so much while I was sick that my sleep bank is full. I was awake before 5 a.m. today. I tried to go back to sleep but couldn’t so I got up and was sitting quietly in the dark, hoping not to wake Vince but eventually, he knew I was up and he got up to see why I was up so early.
While sitting quietly in the living room, in the dark, I was reading Facebook and saw a post by a friend asking for advice on gifts for her grandkids who have everything. I think it was in a comment that someone mentioned Raddish for Kids.
If you have a grandchild who might like to cook and is in the age range appropriate for this, it seems like a perfect gift! You can get a 12 month or 6 month subscription and it looks like you can buy monthly also. It’s a bit pricey but I can see how it would be so fun and something that might make a great gift. I would LOVE to be close enough to Addie to do this with her but I still think, knowing how much kids love getting mail, that this would be an amazing gift.
I did check with Nicole to make sure she doesn’t mind helping with this because for a younger child, mom is going to need to be onboard.

If you are interested in STEM ideas, Bitsbox is a monthly subscription that includes lessons in coding. I did a 6 mo gift for my grand nephews last year. When they catch up with all of the projects, I can restart with Box 7. There are lots of other STEM toys out there.
Of course, I always send a check for the education fund!

I think that is a wonderful idea!! It seems like she is always wanting to help cook when you were there. I think she and Nichole will love doing this together and when you are there I know you will enjoy it!

I like the idea that it isn’t just papers, that they are collecting their own utensils for cooking as they go. In other words, once the meal is served, there’s still something for your money.

Yes! And I was able to buy a book or binder or something where she can save the recipes. If she’s anything like her Granny, she’ll have those recipes when she’s 65 and I hope she looks at them and it brings a smile to her face remembering waiting for the mail man to bring her a package each month.
