One of the best parts of being around Addie for me is seeing things the way she sees them.
There’s a hole in the side of a tree and she noticed a squirrel playing around in the hole. She watched it and giggled for the longest time.
I was at the kitchen sink washing dishes and saw a turtle crawling across the terrace behind the house so I grabbed a chair and called her in to see it. She, of course, wanted to go out and capture the turtle to take to her paw paw. I convinced her that the turtle had family here and we shouldn’t separate him from his other family members.
All dressed up and barefooted but so happy to have a bit of interaction with the turtle.
Oh, how I am going to miss this girl. They have a busy summer planned. I have no trips scheduled to come back and it well may be into the Fall before I come back.

What a joyful time the last couple of months have been, spending so much time with her. You will really miss that at home! They grow by leaps and bounds, mentally at least, during these years, and she’s going to learn so much over the summer!

I have so loved being a grandma for just the same reason…seeing life through a child’s eyes.
