A month or so ago I saw a recipe on Facebook for Cinnamon Roll Poke Cake.
Today was the day for making it. Addie poked the holes and then she “licked” the bowl for the cinnamon filling and then licked the bowl for the cream cheese icing. If the cake is half as good as she thinks it will be, it’s going to be a good cake!
You can see some of the “filling” around the top edges. I’m not a neat cake maker to start with and with Addie’s help, I’m surprised it looks as neat as it does. Looks aren’t everything, right?
Cooking in someone else’s kitchen . . not easy. It’s a good thing they live close to a grocery store . . like a mile or so away. I had asked Nicole when I first got here if she had the ingredients I didn’t bring from home (cream cheese, whipping cream). Yes! She had them. Since then, they’ve either gotten used or I just couldn’t find them. I looked for the cream cheese and couldn’t find it but was sure I had seen whipping cream in the fridge. Addie and I went to the store for cream cheese and Cheeto’s. Got home and couldn’t find the whipping cream. Back to the store for whipping cream.
The cake is made and will be served after dinner tonight. I’ll post about with reviews but I’m expecting it to be quite delicious.
