My stay in Missouri has been extended but I need to be getting on back home.
I had planned to stay through Addie’s last day of school, which was Thursday, then leave on Saturday (yesterday) but when I realized it was Memorial Day weekend, I didn’t want to be driving with the extra traffic on the interstate so I decided to wait til Tuesday.
Now, it looks like the first day I can go home without driving through thunderstorms will be Thursday. I’ll continue to watch the weather and as soon as I see a day when there are no thunderstorms and the roadways are all open (and not closed due to flooding), I’ll head home.
I’m ready to be home!

I wondered about your trip home with all the flooding. We still have issues with the roads when there’s any amount of rain. The March flooding destroyed so many roadbeds and even though the counties triy to sort of fix them, they fall apart again with any amount of rain. Some are awful because of the amount of traffic they get because they are the only way to get anywhere because of bridges that are out and those gravel roads were never designed for the amount of traffic they are getting now, especially the truck traffic. Creeks & rivers are up again with the past week’s rain & it just keeps coming every few days.

We drove to Lake Charles for a crawfish boil on Saturday, came back to Houston on the same day. I was surprised that the traffic wasn’t bad at all. Made those crawfish taste even better. Wish you good weather for your trip back.
