I’d like to think ignoring the weather will make it go away and I’m trying not to remember that May 22, 2011 was the Joplin tornado but . . the forecast is looking a bit scary for us tonight.
A lady in line to pick up her daughter at school asked me if I had seen the weather this evening. I had not but she told me that we had been at a slight risk this morning and about noon, they bumped us up to moderate, which is just below “high” which is the highest risk they report.
Could be a rough night. Chad doesn’t have a basement! I will be calm so Addie doesn’t get scared but I’ll be glad when these storms are out of here.

Oh geez I remember Joplin Judy! Stay safe! Let’s hope everyone has a storm free night!

A friend was in Joplin today and opted to drive back to OKC – I was the weather buddy for the last couple hours, telling him where the storms were, where they were going, etc. Since he was traveling on a turnpike, there aren’t a lot of storm shelters along the way. And listening to local radio stations don’t help since they switch to a TV link and those guys don’t remember the radio audience.
May 20th was the 6 yr anniversary of the F5 Moore OK tornado and I think that is why everyone was cancelling activities, school, work for Monday. The Air Force even fly the AWACs and other planes out of Tinker AFB. But, there are also a lot of planes under maintenance and can’t be flown. We still have storms in the forecast until Saturday.
You have my phone number so I can be your weather buddy if you are driving back home soon! But, it is a good reason to stay put for an extra day or two! Stay safe.

I hope it clears up safely, but this makes me think that Chad is going to have a lot of work the rest of the week!
Jackie says
Stay safe, prayers for you all.

I do not like storms! Living here there is always a chance of tornados. I do not like those one little bit!! Don’t like hail or high winds! Soft steady rain is a good thing though!
