Yesterday I spent a good bit of time knitting on Ludisia. I always seem to think projects will go way faster than they really do. Also, this pattern suggests 350 yards of each of three colors. Looking at the pattern, it didn’t seem to be a pattern that would use 1000+ yards of yarn. Several had also questioned this on Ravelry.
I need to do 28″ of each of the three colors. I’ve now done about 7″, which means I have to do four times this much. I don’t have a scale with me but I’m thinking I’ve used more than 1/4 of my skein of yarn.
There are people on Ravelry who have already done the whole first section and no one mentioned running out so I’ll just keep going. If I have to use four colors instead of three to get it big enough, I’ll use four colors.
The color is Deep Water (Madelinetosh Twist Light) and I think it’s so pretty. It reminds me of the picture I took of the water the other night.
Maybe I’ll add in some green and brown and make this shawl to commemorate my recent trip to my uncle’s.

Beautiful color and does match photo!

That is a gorgeous blue. You couldn’t have matched photo to yarn color better if you had been trying. Unfortunately I decided to frog my KAL project this morning. The DK yarn I was using was making it curl way to much.

That is a really pretty color, and it does go with the photo.

Gorgeous! (I love twilight.) And that is a great start on a commemorative piece.
