My plans for the second quarter knit along are continuing to change. Monday is the first of April and the first day of the second quarter. We have to make a fade project .. something that uses at least two colors (I think that’s right) but can be done using one of two fade methods.
One thing for sure that I’m making is Comfort Fade Cardi. I brought the yarn with me to start that one on April 1. I need to knit something else in order to use the maximum yarn in order to get the maximum stars!
Other possibilities are So Faded and Sea Swell. One skein of sock yarn, in four or five different colors would work for either of those projects. There’s also a So Faded Pint Size that goes up to a kid size 12. If I make either the So Faded or Pint Size, I’m going to steek and make them cardigans. Even in Missouri, pullovers just don’t seem as useful as a cardigan.
Maybe I’ll spend the entire second quarter just knitting fade projects! If I make Comfort Fade Cardi, I only need to make one other thing and that would give me the max yardage but fade projects are a bit addictive!

I found a wonderful pattern by Joji Locatelli called Spector that is a fade design. I’m doing that one for sure.
