This morning, for some crazy reason, the first thing I thought about was that I had not done an October knitting report. I like having these done so I can go back and see what I’ve finished. I was thinking . . maybe in 2019, I’ll add a box to the sidebar where I can keep a list of finished projects and maybe one for started projects. That sounds reasonable now, while I’m thinking I’ll be so disciplined next year but the reality is . . I probably don’t even want to know how many projects I start. I’ll think about that some more.
Here are the projects I finished in October.
The first was the Undulance Socks.
These were started September 25 and finished October 2. That tells you how much I loved working on these socks. I would definitely make another pair of these.
The second project was to finish up a pair of socks that had been neglected.
These were stated January 7, 2018 and finished October 12.
The third project finished in October was my thrum socks. They are so warm. They’re more like slippers than socks. I didn’t particularly love working on these. The thrums feels chaotic and cluttered to me.
I started these on October 4 and finished on October 7. I think it went quickly because I knew if I put them down, I’d never get back to them.
The fourth and fifth projects finished were Adie’s Aurora Unicorn Mittens and a hat.
The mittens were started on October 16 and finished on the 17th. The hat was started on the 18th and finished on the 20th.
The sixth and final October finish – the tiger hat.
It was started on the 23rd and finished on the 24th.
All but one of those were started and finished within a few days. I feel pretty good about what I did in October, considering I was visiting for three weeks. I had a lot of time alone but not a lot of uninterrupted time for doing projects with difficult charts. I’d take Addie to school, fix lunch for Nicole to come home and eat, go back and get Addie before 3. Then our evenings were spent doing fun family things.
As I was finishing up this post, I was thinking about what I want to get finished in November, looked at the calendar and November is 1/3 over already. How on earth does time pass so quickly?

I just love those undulance socks! I finally ordered some needles…I am going to learn to knit! I found a cute hat the other night and it had a youtube video to follow along with. Wish me lots of luck!

I took my first knitting class today, and have a new appreciation for knitters! I have always wanted to learn, and will keep on trying until I get the hang of it. You do such beautiful work!
