You can bet my thighs will be screaming when I get out of bed in the morning. We planted about 7 pounds of garlic this morning. When you consider taking a bulb of garlic, breaking each into 6 – 8 cloves and then planting all of those individually, that was a whole lot of squatting, bending and stooping for these out of shape thighs.
Vince was making the rows and getting the tarps ready to cover the area so I did all the planting while he did other hard stuff.
It’s supposed to rain the next few days, and get cool enough that plants need to go into the greenhouse so I might as well get out there and start moving them in. Dang . . just got home from the dentist and was hoping to sit and knit.
Maybe later. I told Vince about a really good Mexican restaurant in a neighboring town, hoping he’d say “Let’s go there tonight” but he didn’t. 🙁
Off to haul in some plants . . more work for my already overworked thighs today! 🙂

Ha, ha, as long as you’re already going to be sore, might as well make it *every* muscle! That is a big patch, so congratulations on getting it all in. I hope getting things into the greenhouse goes as well. Could you have just said you wanted to go, or insisted on going because you don’t feel like cooking after the dentist and all the planting?

Right on. Planted the garlic and took in the plants and I am in near Seattle. Strange our weather should be so much alike right now.

I’ve had my knee joints replaced(titanium) & was told that squatting would quickly wear them out requiring another replacement! Ouch~ no thank you to more surgery if can be prevented. My gardens are all in raised beds somewhat like what you had for growing potatoes in MO. I love the raised beds that make everything gardening & harvesting so much easier for me. I think they’re approximately 6×10 ea because of area for garden but could be larger & still workable. Although you can’t run tractor thru them size wise they are easy to till by hand & add soil amendments. Originally we filled with rich soil so they need just a little work before new crop is planted. In fact my extremely tall 36 yr old daughter has converted her garden to raised beds & loves them & my son is now considering. I think raised beds(for all or just some crops) might be helpful to you!

So glad you got that done. Hope you are not too sore. There is always the Epsom salt bath that helps! LOL
