The only reason I can come up with for the amount of yarn that has arrived and will arrive is that I was very lonely during the days. Addie was in school. Chad and Nicole were at work. Vince is not buying that excuse. It’s ok if you don’t buy it either. Even I don’t believe it but honestly, I’ve been doing a halfway decent job of not buying yarn.
I’m going to share the yarn here that I bought for each project. This isn’t to say “look how much yarn I bought” because I’m not real proud of blowing my yarn diet but I full do intend to not buy any more for a very long time. In fact, I’m halfway to the point of deciding I’ll skip the Black Friday sales. That’s very hard to do because once that day is over . . those sales are over too. I have about four weeks to decide.
I’m posting the yarns here so I’ll have an easy place to find a record of what I was planning for each sweater. I post it all in my Ravelry queue too but . . you know me . . I can’t have it too many places.
First is the yarn for Skogafjall. I mentioned that I was a bit enamored with Norwegian type colorwork patterns lately. This is one of them.
Before you mention it . . I know that most everything I ordered seems to be green. Not sure what’s up with that.
This is Lettlopi yarn and it’s a yarn I have not used before. This is one of the yarns that is rather scratchy and most recommend using it only for something that will not be worn against the skin. I will probably wear a shirt under this. But, I do see lots of projects made from this yarn that people are wearing without shirts under them.
This yarn is made from wool from Icelandic sheep. Their wool consists of two layers – the inner layer is light, soft and curly and insulates to keep them warm. The inner layer is called pel. The outer layer is long, coarse and smooth and is water repellant which keeps them dry. The outer coat is called tog. Together, the pel and tog are processed together to produce lopi, according to Wikipedia.
Since our climate is so NOT similar to the climate of Iceland . . what could possibly go wrong with wearing a sweater here made of this wool? 🙂

You will buy yarn on Black Friday because you can’t give the habit up. Ask you self if you will ever use all the yarn and fabric up, nope

You made me laugh there at the end. The colors are quite pretty. Maybe it will be an unseasonably cold winter. Could happen! I remember huge hail stones when I was a child, and it snowed twice in Odessa before I was 9. =)

It will be something to take with you to Missouri when you visit in the winter! LOL
