Yarn doesn’t come in as much as it used to. I somewhat remember the budget! So, when it does come in, it’s a happy day for me.
Both of these are from Wendy’s Wonders. Wendy is taking a short break now but she’ll be back soon.
There are 600 yards of Keeping the Wolves Away.
This one is Over the Hills and Far Away. I can’t wait to use this one.
I have some white, glassy looking rectangular-ish beads that I may use on this. There’s no white in the yarn so I think they would show up nicely. I’ll have to see once I find a pattern. This one is 800 yards and I want to use as much of it as I can . . without running out.
The names of both of these yarns hit home with me. Keeping the Wolves Away makes me think of the coyotes I hear at night. Sometimes they sound like they’re right under our window. I can’t imagine what it was like in pioneer days and people were sleeping in tents and these wild critters were everywhere.
Over the Hills & Far Away reminds me of my trips to Missouri. The colors in this skein are so happy. It’s a very long trip – over a few hills and definitely far away but when I get there, I’m so happy.
Both of these are going to be very fun to knit.

Speaking of coyotes and wolves, when I was a kid I woke up one night hearing a woman screaming! I ran to mom and daddy’s room and told them she needed help. Daddy told me it was not a woman but a panther that was screaming, trying to draw in prey! I didn’t even open the door at night for several months!!

Beautiful yarns, and I’m especially fond of the second one. I have to try to remember to check her site when she comes back.
