This is a funny story because I’ve mentioned on here that I never can remember which day of the week we’re on. All day Thursday, I thought it was Saturday. I guess on the days Vince and I go to town together, it seems like Saturday so . . basically, we’re having five Saturdays each week because the weekend is about the only days I can convince him to stay home.
Anyway all day Thursday, I thought it was Saturday. At some point that evening, I said to Vince “Today is not Saturday is it?” No all day college football should have been a dead giveaway.
Friday morning I got up and the first thing I thought was “Today is Friday and I’m going to remember that all day!”
I had ordered some beads and I got an email from the lady and she said “The beads just got shipped! That’s really unusual for a Saturday.” I thought . . Am I confused again? I looked at my phone and it was really Friday but I figured I would not correct her.
Later in the day I got an email and she said “You must think I’m crazy!” I wrote back and said “No . . I thought all day yesterday was Saturday, but this morning locked it in my head that today is Friday and then I got your email and had to look at a calendar.”
It was funny just to know there are plenty of us retired or semi-retired folks who cannot remember the day of the week. Our routines that we’ve had for so many years . . every day is a weekend now!

If it wasn’t for the date showing in the corner of my computer screen I would never know what day it is. And then I have to click on it to open the calendar to see what actual day it is. What’s worse is that my husband will keep asking me what day it is. Like he doesn’t believe my when I tell him the first time?? Anyway, once you’re retired every day is Saturday!

When I stayed home, I ran all my errands during the week and tried my best to stay out of stores on Saturday and Sunday. Now that I’m back to working full time, I remember why!! When you get in a rhythm, I bet you’ll want to avoid going to town on weekends, too! It’s just SO much easier without the crowds.

My husband retired 9 yrs ago about this time of year. His week now has 3 days to it-yesterday, today and tomorrow. He never knows what day of the week it is.

Oh, yes, the minute I didn’t have to write the day and date on the board for students, caring what day of the week it is went out the window! I have to remember Sundays and Thursdays, and otherwise, I don’t care which day it is!
