I was at Chad’s for two weeks. I’m the only one who uses the shower in the bathroom at the far end of the house. Addie will sometimes run in there to go to the bathroom. I had my suitcase in the bedroom but in the bathroom, I kept a tote bag with my bath things . . including baby powder. Addie hasn’t bothered my stuff in a long time. The last night I went in there and there was baby powder everywhere. My overnight bag had about an inch of baby powder in it. Speck’s crate is in there and it was full of baby powder. Of course, the floor had lots of baby powder.
I said “Addie, did you get into my powder?” No . . she did not! I wasn’t going to make an issue of it.
When we got in bed, I was talking to her about being honest. I told her that it doesn’t matter what you do, always tell the truth, even when you might get in trouble or someone is going to be angry with you! OK . . she understood! She rolled over in bed and said “Granny! I bet I know who got into your powder! It’s that curious monkey! You know how George is . . always getting in trouble!”
So much for my lesson on honesty! I said “You know . . you may be right!”
Sometimes even Granny has to be a little dishonest . . just by agreeing with a statement that was a stretch of the truth!
Addie was probably thinking . . whew . . she believes that story! 🙂

At some point, she may ‘fess up, or maybe she will just stay out of your powder, having had this experience.
