Vince had 36 sessions of cardiac rehab which he has been doing at the local hospital. He was going for one hour Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Those 36 sessions were paid by insurance. It’s fixing to end. He can continue and pay a nominal fee but he doesn’t sound very interested in continuing.
His going to rehab has given me about 1-1/2 hours of free time Monday, Wednesday and Friday. I’m encouraging him to continue going but, if I had to guess, I’d say he’s not going to do it.
That means we’ll be together every minute of every day except the few hours I’m at knitting on Tuesdays. What’s a girl to do? 🙂
Vince has been working hard to unpack boxes and clean up the shop. He’s made a couple of trips to the dump but, in my opinion, not nearly enough. He’s repacking a lot of stuff I’d be tossing but . . most of it isn’t my stuff. I’ve been out there a few times when he was working and I ask him “Do you really think you’re going to use that again?” or “When we move, are you going to unpack it and be glad you have it or, are you going to leave it in boxes forever for Chad to have to throw away?” He has a hard time getting rid of anything.
He has found quite a few things he ordered in the past, thinking he would do something with it and never did and now he’s enjoying those things. He wants to do more with solar energy and he’s found panels and all kinds of things he bought. Right now we have solar lights everywhere and solar chargers that are charging a lot of things. It isn’t like it’s a big savings of electricity but he’s having fun with it. I’d gladly give up so much solar power in exchange for a little rain!
Life after retirement – good but definitely different. Let’s all keep our fingers crossed that he decides to continue going to rehab.

Encourage him to find a interest that keeps him occupied. My husband has gotten into woodworking, which keeps him busy for hours when it’s not so hot! He also spends hours reading and listening to news talk radio, internet, books etc. on history and politics. He has his own room for that. We are both retired, but some days only see each other at breakfast!

If it wasn’t for rehab, I think Pat would go nuts! If he could play his disc golf that would help, but it has been way too hot to do that and he is going to have to regain his strength to be able to do that.Pat is in the same one as Dallas Huston and he enjoys his company.

I do hope he continues, since it’s a nominal charge. I don’t think it can do anything but good for him.
