I’m trying to figure out how to share what we’re doing on this plan, along with give myself a record of what I’m eating. I will also tell you how much I’ve lost each day. I know . . don’t weigh every day . . but I probably will.
Another thing that I’ve questioned is whether we need to eat three full meals per day. I’ve read three meals/2 snacks is good and I’ve read that we should eat when we’re hungry, eating keto friendly foods, and not eat til we’re stuffed. We have a late breakfast and eat our main meal about 3 p.m. and I’m not usually hungry again. I’ll see how that goes, or maybe about 6 p.m., eat a boiled egg with tome tuna or sardines.
Vince doesn’t want to do the diet so I’ll have to work around that but also, and not to sound callous, but he can cook if he doesn’t like what I’m fixing. Vince is a super junk food eater and he eats chips, gross storebought cookies, and candy. He loves pasta and bread. He’s had a health scare. He knows what he should be doing. He’s an adult.
Here’s what I’ve had so far today:
Breakfast:
- Two egg yolks (I know . . the whites are healthier but I don’t like them)
- Two slices bacon
- One-half avocado
- To drink: One Zevia Dr. Zevia drink
Lunch:
- Roast Beef – I had a roast out and I cut it in half, cooked half of it (seasoned with salt, pepper, cajun spices, browned in oil, then cooked in the pressure cooker)
- Zucchini with onions – sauteed in olive oil
- Cauliflower rice with mushrooms, peppers and onions.
- To drink: Fizzy water (tap water made fizzy with the Soda Stream)
The “gravy” was just the juice that cooked with the meat. No flour or cornstarch added for thickening. I ended up eating only half the meat. The cauliflower rice was great and so quick and easy.
Vince had the same thing I had but he wanted rice so I cooked rice for him.
Day #1 . . a success so far!

Good luck. I’m going to a functional medicine / chiropractor and had my food sensitivities / allergies tested. Tests said I should eliminate cane sugar, yeast bread, dairy, and some other stuff. I just cut out cane sugar and dairy and in the first month have lost 14 pounds. I’m eating meat and vegetable mostly but I haven’t been hungry. My Dr. P was coffee with cream and sugar and whipped cream (sometimes) and lots of it. Just changing that has made a big improvement.

That looks good and also healthy. Can you grow avocados there?

eat like king at breakfast; a prince at lunch and a pauper at dinner; substitute queen and princess; or eat five small meals a day

The app Carb Manager really helps me watch what Im eating and when I reach my macros for the day I know Im done eating for the day.
The more often you eat, the more insulin your body produces. Insulin is a fat storing hormone. Eating 3 meals and snacks as well, is eating too often. diet doctor dot com (no spaces) has lots of good information.

The first 2 weeks are the hardest as you detox from sugar and grains. Watch out for “keto flu” keep drinking electrolytes and lots of water.
We have been doing keto for about 5 weeks, haven’t weighed yet but I’m down a pant size. More important, my inflammation is gone, I used to go to bed hurting to the point that I had to take Tylenol; all pain is gone!! My blood sugar is down to 5.5 and I’m off 2 forms if insulin.
Dr. Ken Berry has a lot of videos on YouTube, take some time to watch. Good luck on your journey!

Keto.app – Keto Diet Tracker (that is exact name in app store) is a great app for tracking what you eat. It costs a nominal fee per month but worth it. It helps you get your ratios correct. I need to hop back on Keto, especially with all the work I am going to be doing on my new house and yard. It is a shame to let all that exercise go to waste by eating like crap. It is .5 acre and so much weeding needs to be done. But next spring I can have a garden again. Once the inside is in order, I get to play in the dirt and design the back patio!!! I bought the house for the yard, patio, pool, beautiful trees more than I did for what the house looks like. lol. Neither of us wanted a house in a subdivision where they clear cut all the land before building. I know it will eventually look pretty again but I’ll be dead by then.

That sounds like a diet anyone could stick with – it doesn’t seem like dieting at all. To me, you don’t eat much, in terms of quantity.
