Some days I feel like a lazy, slug of a wife. Today is one of those days.
We ended up going to town. Surprise! Vince needed something from Home Depot. He had a Chick-Fil-A coupon for a free sandwich and drink so he talked me into going. Actually, I needed enough groceries that I didn’t mind going to Walmart. It was a struggle not to have to go anywhere else. Before we left, I said “Tell me exactly where we’re going.” Chick-Fil-A, Home Depot and Walmart.
As soon as we were in town . .
Vince: Do you want to go to Hobby Lobby?
Me: No.
A few minutes later . .
Vince: Do you need to go to United?
Me: Nope!
After we left Walmart . .
Vince: Are you sure you don’t need to go to Aldi?
Me: Nowhere else . . home please!
This evening, we decided to have brie and figs for dinner.
For the topping, I think the original recipe called for raspberry jam and candied walnuts. I had a jar of strawberry/fig jam open so I used that and I had leftover candied almonds from the salad I make that uses them.
Stick the brie in the oven for a while, heat up the jam and figs, pour that over the brie, add the candied almonds. Dinner is served!
