Last night it was going to be really cold again. It was clear and I was afraid it was going to drop below 32°. I figured I’d rather be safe than sorry so started hauling the tender plants to the greenhouse but then I thought . . I have to pass right by an empty chicken coop that’s not 20′ from where the plants were.
That was a whole lot easier than carrying them all the way to the greenhouse. It wasn’t going to be cold enough for them to need heat . . I just wanted to keep the frost off if we had frost.
Now, surely we’re done with the cold nights. I’ll take them out, put them with the plants that were more frost hardy and hopefully be done with moving them around.

I finally planted my three tomato plants on Friday, our nights have been cool, as low as 45, but we are done with frost here in CA. Have you thought about getting some frost cover fabric? I use it for my small avocado trees in the winter. It lets the light and air through, but protects the leaves from frost. Might be easier than lugging pots. Hope this your last frost for this year.

Aren’t you tired of winter weather? Here in north Mississippi we had frost again last night. Like you, I’ve been hauling tender plants in and out. Mother Nature, enough already!

I’m sure tired of the frost here in Kentucky. I’ve covered my bleeding hearts and some of the other plants up so many times. Usually we are having a short spring and into 80 degree weather many of the days by now.

My daughter woke up to 3” of snow in Iowa today. This winter has just been crazy! I’m ready for some sunshine!

Sunday morning I woke up to 19 inches outside my back door. I think Mother Nature forgot to turn the page on the calendar …

I heard the plant lady talking on the radio the other day and she said if you forget and leave them out, just get up early and spray them with water before the sun gets to them and they should be ok?
