This post should have a disclaimer: I am crazy! Enough said, right? Seriously, if someone says I need a hole in my head, I’d probably plug in the drill before asking why. But, my guess is . . most of you already know that about me.
While I was gone for almost three weeks, I read all the comments you wrote, I read all my email but I didn’t respond to most of it because I was usually reading from the phone or the tablet while playing with Addie and I just can’t type on those things. You’ve seen what happens when I try to type. I say stupid things and spell all the words wrong. No . . I don’t ALWAYS type on the tablet and phone . . I just type slower than my brain and sometimes it just isn’t right. Trust me . . typing on the phone or tablet is not good for the person trying to figure out what I’m saying so I didn’t respond much while I was gone.
On Facebook, I would try to catch up every night in bed and about 2 minutes into my reading time, Addie would say “Granny? Are you ever going to turn off that light?”
Consequently, I have totally lost track of what’s going on in my little world. That should explain why I bought this corrugated pie pan and have no idea why but here’s a little more info.
My friend, Mary Beth, who is my friend in real life because she lives near where I lived before and we met several times. She said something to the effect that “While I was on the phone with King Arthur, they told me the problem with my pies is that I’m using a flat pan.” She proceeded to say how she went to Walmart and couldn’t find a corrugated (or any bumpy bottom) pan and then she went to some little specialty shop and found the pan she needed. Well . . she doesn’t live in Brownwood, Texas or she would had to have ordered it from Amazon.
It was Sunday when I got home and decided I would go ahead and order the corrugated pie pan. Then I said . . no, it probably won’t arrive in time. Our UPS deliveries, more often than not, arrive after 8 p.m. It would be scheduled for delivery on Wednesday but I was not going to start making a pie at 8 p.m. but then I figured I’d be having this same debate with myself right before Christmas or before I make the next pie so I went ahead and ordered it. I was so happy to hear UPS drive up fairly early this morning.
I already have the USA corrugated square pan. In fact, I had taken something to my uncle’s lakehouse in my square pan one time and Chad loved the pan so much that I told him to take it and I ordered myself another one. I also have their Pullman covered loaf pan in two sizes, and their regular loaf pan in two sizes. I guess I should go ahead and order all their pans but make sure I do it so they’ll be delivered on a day when Vince is not home.
There are plenty of articles on the internet singing the praises of corrugated pans. Who knows if they’re truly worth it but I have a lot of pans that are rusty or scratched or warped so I don’t mind ordering a few pans.
Now, I’ve ordered two round cake pans, a sheet cake pan and another pie pan. Seems like I’m often making two pies at a time. As much as I cook, and as seldom as we go out to eat, I don’t mind spending a little money to have good quality cookware.
