Texas has some of the best roads ever. Imagine my surprise when traveling this week . . on a highway I take often enough, and it’s a nice highway. Apparently some portions of it floods and they’re raising the highway. Look at this mess!
Road Construction
I’m not sure how small cars get through it. There was a lot of loose dirt and it had rained. My car is four wheel drive and I felt it slipping and sliding a couple of times. I will avoid this area for a while but imagine my surprise since I’ve come this way so many times . . normally a 75 mile per hour speed limit on a nice highway but not this time! I felt like I had stepped back in time.
In fact, I knew I had taken a picture along this stretch of the road the last time I was through here.
Highway
A bit different between then and now but it will be nice when it’s done . . even though I thought it was pretty nice before.

In my area of Texas they are either widning or repaving all the roads around here. Well it feels like it. At least somehing going on in all directions I travel.
