It’s no wonder I go down so many rabbit holes. There are cotton tails all over the place and they dig these holes and every time I go out . . down another rabbit hole I go! 🙂
I wish there was some way to turn off these desires when I first feel them begin to bubble up in my head. Wait . . we as humans are supposed to be equipped with something called self-control . . in which I seem to be terribly lacking.
For well over a week, I’ve been thinking about knitting something using lace weight yarn. Well, it really started last week when I saw a project someone had knitted using lace weight yarn and it had beads and I have such a love/hate relationship with beads and I couldn’t get that out of my head so I ordered yarn from Miss Babs – the same yarn the other knitter had used.
One of these colors should work!
Then, I’ve been looking at Boo-Knits’ designs for a quite a while. They’re kinda “not me” but they’re so intriguing and she has such a following and I keep going back to them so yesterday I decided I’d jump in and do the Halloween Mystery Knit Along called Apparition. I know . . I said no more mystery knit alongs but I think what I meant to say was “only one per day!” Good grief . . why do I keep doing this? Yep . . no self-control.
Apparition calls for 100% Tussah Silk yarn. Boo Knits is from England so all the yarn she recommends is from somewhere other than the U. S. I don’t have a problem with ordering yarn from other countries but the first clue is released October 1. I’ll be doing good to receive yarn from other countries by the time the third clue is released. But, that didn’t stop me from ordering from Germany and from England and then someone told me Knit Picks’ Luminance yarn isn’t bad so I ordered that. I paid extra for expedited shipping, which probably still won’t get it here by October 1. Not their fault . . I’m the one whose late getting this ball rolling.
Even though it’s a bit heavy for this project, I figured Miss Babs is still my best bet if I am determined to start with the group so I ordered more yarn from her.
At this point, if I had to guess, I’d say I have 15 different lace weight yarns ordered. Let’s hope I like knitting with lace weight yarn!
And then there are beads! It needs 800 – 900 beads. I was online looking at beads yesterday when Vince came in and had the mail. There was a new Fire Mountain catalog so I took that to mean . . do it . . order beads! So, I ordered a variety of beads.
And if none of those work, maybe some of these will!
2018 is going to be the year I use beads on everything! I love them!
Next week I have to go to Abilene and I was going to go by Hobby Lobby and look at needlepoint. I think I won’t. I think I have enough to keep me busy without adding another hobby.

I stopped in Hobby Lobby yesterday to get a tripod easel for the 5-foot triangle loom I made. I left with $70 worth of stuff. Less than 1/2 of that was the easel…that is a dangerous place…LOL

You are so funny! I’ve said the internet is a bad thing for people with hobbies! Good thing the internet wasn’t around when I was growing up. I still think you need a CSM to knit up all that sock yarn…and now lace weight, too! 🙂

I laughed out loud when I scrolled down to the bin of beads!! Oh, how much that looks like me!! LOL!! My problem is that I buy the stuff, but never get around to using it. I need to be more like you – at least you don’t sit around all day on the computer when you have other things to do. I need to clean my house so I can find things, and then get busy using it up!! Thanks for the push!!!
