Besides the fact that I started, ripped, started, ripped at least 50 times on the brioche project, by the time I was feeling pretty confident, I decided I didn’t like the colors. The brown was so brown up against the blue.
I ripped it all out and started over. I must have used 6 or 8 combinations. I kept getting up to go to the bedroom to change yarns. Every time I get up, Vince says “Where you going?” This house is about the size of a peanut. If he will wait a second, he’ll see where I’m going! 🙂
I would say “I’m going to change yarns!” I think he thought I was just making something up. Seriously, I would knit a bit, decide I didn’t like that combination, go get something else.
Here’s where I left it last night.
I like the speckle yarn with the brown much better.
I hope I’m done starting over. I’m never going to finish at this rate.
My plan was to get several projects started for our knitting retreat and the last two things I’ve worked on have been way too hard to do while talking and visiting. The next clue for the brioche shawl comes out September 7 so I’m hoping I can be done with the brioche part by then, the next part will be easy and I can take it with me and work on it while at the retreat.
Our retreat isn’t far from Houston so you can bet I’ll be watching the news about the new hurricane and that may change our retreat plans.

I like the new color combo much better. The brioche really didn’t show up well with the original colors. Aren’t stashes wonderful? I haven’t tackled brioche yet. Looking forward to seeing your completed project.
