As I’ve already mentioned, we went to HEB in San Angelo yesterday. I am so totally in love with HEB, probably partly because we don’t have one so getting to shop at one is always fun. Yes, I find grocery shopping at a nice store to be fun.
The San Angelo store has a nice seafood section, as well as a cart where folks are making fresh sushi.
Vince hit the seafood counter while I was still gathering up veggies. I knew he bought two lobsters but I didn’t know he bought oysters too so for lunch today, we had lobster, fried oysters, baked potatoes and salad. For dinner tonight, we’re having sushi.
For more than one reason, it’s a good thing we don’t go to HEB often.

Almost an ALL SEAFOOD day!!! Love the lobster, not so much the oysters and sushi! That baked potato looks good, too!

we love HEB and don’t have one here in the Dallas/FW area. So when we visit grandkids in Austin area, we usually do some shopping at HEB on the way out of town. We’re hoping eventually we’ll get one–or more–as HEB has been buying up property. Wishful thinking??

Looks wonderful! Did you airfryer the oysters, potatos and lobster?
Thanks to you, I LOVE my Philips airfryer as much as my I Instant Pot!

WalMart and HEB only stores anywhere near for us.

I had serious HEB withdrawal when we moved from south of Fort Worth to Garland. Carol, we do the same thing when we visit grandkids in Georgetown.

I love HEB! I used to travel extensively for work and shop at many other grocery stores across the nation. Nothing comes close to HEB other than Publix but even Publix didn’t have the quality of produce found at HEB. When I would return home after long trips away, I had to fight the urge to not just run out and hug the HEB sign. The sushi bar, olive bar, and chefs cooking at various spots in the store always have delicious treats. The wine stewards are great too. In addition they are always willing to support community activities. I can’t live without my HEB.

Reading all the above is so funny! Since our “Winter Texan” purchase a few years back, the one thing we talk most about is the HEB stores!!!!! The seafood is premium and the stores/employees are perfection!!!! Here, in Harlingen, we have several to choose from and we really go into withdrawals when we return home….LOL!!!! The fresh produce canNOT be topped!!!! Now, if there only was a (Midwestern based) Menard’s (a “Lowe’s”/”Home Depot” genre) down here, I think our residency would become more full time!!! LOL!!!!!!
