This is just the kind of day I needed. The rain should knock down some of the cedar pollen. With it being chilly and drizzly, there’s nothing I feel like I need to be doing outside so we’re sitting, knitting, napping .. whatever urge strikes us.
The times I love our place the most are on days like this. It feels even more secluded with the light fog and the quietness of just nothing going on in the area. Not too hot, not too cold, not pouring . . just perfect.
The trees seem lonely and naked with no leaves, no blooms . . just droplets of water hanging from the branches.
It will not be long before spring and with the warm weather and longer days, these trees will burst forth with leaves, blossoms and hopefully fruit. I look forward to spring but I don’t want winter to end too quickly. This is the time for trees, as well as us humans, especially those of us who garden, to rest and be ready to give it all we have once spring arrives.

Brrrrr, the pear tree looks so cold. Must be the wet nakedness, cause the trees on the horizon and those in the driveway picture don’t seem to be suffering in the same weather. Hope you get lots of delicious pears this year! Yum.

The trees down the driveway are evergreens. Some are the cedar that are diving my allergies crazy right now.

Hope your allergies get better. We only had two days of below freezing temperatures, but all the outer surfaces of my plants are dead. Lots of pre-Spring yard work!
