I have two questions for you:
- How did it get to be Friday again so soon?
- How did it get to be September? Where has this year gone?
I guess that’s really three questions.
Yesterday I started my Stained Glass Cowl. Don’t forget that those first 8 or so gray rows are waste yarn and that will all come off. The pattern isn’t hard at all . . just time consuming. The fact that there are over 500 stitches makes it take a very long time to do each row, plus my colorwork skills are awful so I go slowly.
My plan is that I’m not going to work on this non-stop. I think I would get bored if I tried that so I’m planning to work on it a little each day. I’d like to get at least 5 rows done per day. IF I can get that much done, it’s still going to take me over a month to get it done but I doubt I get 5 rows done each day. This picture was taken earlier in the day and I had 7 rows done. By the time I went to bed, I had finished 9 rows but several of those rows were solid with no colorwork.
You’ll notice I went with the orange. I kept thinking I would come up with a different color but I got so tired of thinking and debating that I just gave up and went with the orange and I’m liking it. But, get this . . The Loopy Ewe has a “monthly mixer” and for September, it’s something done in your high school or college colors. My high school colors are orange and black so this actually worked great. I love it when that happens!

I’ve got my waste yarn knit and connected, and am ready to pick up my black this morning. Would have started it yesterday, but had to wait for that yarn order you’re being blamed for to arrive and get it wound.Taking a road trip this weekend, and hoping to get something accomplished. I think your Black and orange is going to look great!

The orange/yellow is looking great! I agree with you – it’s going to be a long project – and I’ll not be working on mine exclusively either. I started over on mine last night with a different color so I went from being about 15 rows done to about 5 done but I like it much better.
