Vince mostly doesn’t complain too much about what I do (or don’t do) so long as there are yummy meals on the table when meal time rolls around but every now and then I get the idea that he thinks I don’t do anything but sit and knit. If I ever say anything about it, he’ll say “I’m not complaining about what you do!” I know it’s a whole lot different “working” at home doing what I do vs. being in an office and doing what he does but still . . I don’t sit and knit all day and you all know that, right?
Cake, Kombucha and Croutons
This is the result of my morning’s work:
- Kombucha bottled
- Another batch of Kombucha started
- Cake
- Croutons from last night’s leftover bread
- The loaf of bread in the back is storebought but I baked it and heated up meatballs/spaghetti sauce for our lunch.
- Let the chickens out.
- Watered in the greenhouse
- Fed the cats
- Spun a little yarn
Yesterday a friend on FB mentioned that she was making a molasses cake. It’s been years since I made one and my recipe calls for 1 cup of coffee and I started thinking . . that would be so good with King Cake Coffee so I made that. We had a small slice for dessert at lunch and it was yummy.
This afternoon’s activities . . first off . . a nap.
OK. Maybe I do sit and not accomplish much, but please don’t tell Vince!

I actually do not do anything but sew all day (and read blogs). I don’t cook and only clean when I think the health department would have issues. I’ve been known to buy new underwear because of undone laundry. Feel better now? (Show this reply to your husband so he can appreciate the busy beaver you are!)

It’s easy to be industrious when I’m doing the things I think are fun . . it’s those things that aren’t fun that seem to get put off forever.

Just remember you are on the winter schedule. Not too much outside work. You are busier than the average bear! Oops I mean homemaker!

I know. Just thinking about how busy things will be here in a couple of months makes me tired.

Oh yes the Kombucha at Aldi’s! I bought a bottle, got it good and cold and popped the top. . . myself, the blacksmith and our 37 yr old son all thought it tasted too vinegar like. We decided it would make good BBQ base.
Does it all have a vinegar taste? Funny thing the checker asked me if I had tried it before. I told her no, she said everyone that has bought it, has never tried it.
