Addie’s Rainbow Sweater

When I saw the Atlantic Coast pattern a couple of weeks ago, I knew I had to make it for Addie. I figured with my history of finishing things, since she’s wearing a size 4 now, I’d better make the size 5-6 and look . . I finished it in less than a week!

It isn’t blocked yet and I don’t have buttons. I’d love to find some of those swirly circle buttons in the same colors and not line the buttons up with the stripes . . like have the yellow button by the purple stripes, and the red button by the blue stripes, and so on. I doubt I can find any cute buttons here so I may have to send the sweater to Nicole and let her look in Joplin for buttons. They have Hobby Lobby and JoAnn’s there.

The pattern was easy to follow and went quickly except I made every mistake possible on the first sleeve. I was so aggravated with myself. I had separated the sleeves after making the first yellow stripe so when I started again, I added the black stripe and then I should have added two more yellow stripes but I went right on to the green, then the blue, then the purple and I was thinking . . WOW! This is going so fast. I got done with the purple and I thought . . this sleeve is way too short and that’s when I realized I should have been making three of each colored stripes so I ripped back . . did two more yellow stripes, then . . I did three blue stripes. When I started making the green stripes, I realized the green was supposed to come before the blue so I had to rip back again! You can bet I didn’t make those same mistakes on the second sleeve!

Now I’ll get back to working on my Hitofude.
