Back in March I think it was, Sheri announced that we could do a project for extra credit at Loopy Academy. All you had to do was use at least 175 yards and make something that somehow reminded you of spring. I wasn’t going to do it but then last week, she shared some of the photos that had been submitted for extra credit. That made me want to do it and I had to act fast. The item has to be finished by the end of May. Why do I do this to myself?
I called Nicole to see if she wanted to do it because I wasn’t leaving her out of the fun. Yes! She needed a project before Camp Loopy starts on June 1.
It turns out that I need something easy to work on this week. Age of Brass and Steam has been something I’ve wanted to make for a long time, and it looks pretty easy so Nicole and I both decided to make that. Nicole is using a turquoise colored yarn (I already forgot what it was) and I’m using Mrs. Crosby’so Carpet Bag yarn in Golden Butter.
One skein is supposed to be enough. I hope it is. I may have a partial skein left from Addie’s sweater made with this yarn. Maybe I should dig it out and have it handy since I’m working against a deadline on this project.

I think you’ll really like that pattern. And it’s shaped just right (at least for me) so that if I toss it over my shoulders and let the fronts hang down, it stays put. I don’t have to tie it or pin it and it’s not sliding around — it stays in my drawer at work in case it gets drafty.

Hmm just went to look on my project page to see how much yarn I used on mine and dang – I apparently never created a project page for it. I know it did not take a lot of yarn tho.

I’ve knit this and it’s also a favorite of mine. I like wearing it with the point at the front and the ends wrapped around. Living in Florida, it’s often enough to keep me warm on cooler mornings.
