There could have been massive amounts of yarn ordered/received this week. I’m going to go ahead and report what’s ordered, even though it isn’t here yet because I forget what came in when and you know I want to be sure and totally correct and not slip any unreported yarn by you. 🙂
One good thing is that I’m accepting responsibility for all this. Not blaming anyone! But, I believe everything I ordered has a project that’s ready to begin soon so . . it’s not too bad, or it won’t be too bad til Vince sees the credit card bill! 🙂
Order #1: Hitofude is one of the KALs at Eat, Sleep, Knit this year. I’m going to try to do them all . . not sure I’ll succeed. I love the pattern. From what I’ve read, Hitofude seems like it’s really fun to knit but right now I’m feeling a bit intimidated. I’m not sure how it will look on me. I could make it for a gift but I want to make it for myself. The worst thing that can happen is I’ll knit it, not like it, rip it out and make something else with the yarn. Some people have made it longer and I’m definitely going to do that. Madelinetosh’s Twist Light is new in stores and I’m using that, in the Moorland color. This is the swatch (that I showed in my On The Needles post).
Six skeins added!
Order #2: You know how weird I am about funny little coincidences, right? Last week I had been out planting corn . . blue dent corn for making blue cornmeal and blue grits.
I was tired. I came in and sat down with a glass of water and was reading my text messages. There was one from ESK saying they had a new DK weight yarn from Numma Numma called TEXAS Toasty.
I like their yarn anyway so I went to check it out. How could I walk away without looking at a yarn named TEXAS Toasty? The first thing I read is that it’s a tightly twisted yarn. I love tightly twisted yarns! They tend not to pill. I looked at the colors and what was the first color on the list? Blue Corn Masa! I had blue dent corn, which is used to make masa, in my pocket! Yes, I ordered it. The yarn is gorgeous! Even though I don’t have a project in mind for this one, DK is such a great weight and I knew I’d be sorry if I didn’t get it.
Seven skeins added!
Order #3: Laura Aylor is working on a cardigan with the most beautiful cables. I’m going to do a test knit for her and I should get the pattern today, though my yarn will not be here til Monday. It needs sport weight and I didn’t have enough of any sport weight yarn here so . . I had to order something. I decided on Madelinetosh Pashmina, which is what Laura used, but there just wasn’t much Pashmina at either Eat, Sleep, Knit or The Loopy Ewe. I ended up ordering Grasshopper, which is a wild green but I like it.
Six skeins added!
Order #4: Another project for this quarter at ESK is something sleeveless. I decided on Beekeeper’s Tank and I ordered enough yarn that I can go back and add short sleeves once I get it qualified for the KAL. I ordered more Madelinetosh Twist, color Fir Wreath, to make that.
Four skeins added.
Order #5: With the first of April came Madelinetosh’s new monthly colorway or ESK and it was Little Magnolia. I ordered 5 skeins of Vintage – 3 to make Brickless and 2 for whatever I’m going to make with the 2 skeins I order each month.
Five skeins added.
Lots of yarn ordered. Lots of projects planned . . lots of knitting coming up.
As far as used . . I did finish the knitting on the Booga bag. It still needs to be felted but I’m going to count the yarn now since I’m done with the knitting part. I used 5 skeins!
Used this week: 5 skeins
Used since 1/1/2015: 57 skeins
Added this week: 28 skeins
Added since 1/1/21015: 161 skeins
Net Used since 1/1/2015: 104 skeins (red means I’ve added more than I’ve used).
Darn! Back in the hole by 100+ but I might can drop below 100 this week . . depending on how much I knit. I’m pretty sure nothing will get added this week.

Well I finally added in the two sweater quantities and the Wollmeise I had received and I went from 1,620 yards added this year to over 9,000. LOL Oops.

It’s easy to do, isn’t it?
