Jo Kramer has been a blog friend for many years and I was thrilled when I read that Jo, and her daughter, Kelli, were writing a book together. The book, Country Girl Modern, can be purchased through Jo’s book store. Keep reading .. you can win a copy of the book here but if you don’t win, please take the time to click on the above link and you can find lots of pictures of the quilts in the book.
The book, as expected, is a fantastic one. The quilts all seem to be simple enough to make, but strikingly beautiful. I love the use of so many tone on tone fabric! And I love the country scenery in the pictures. The book is inspiring enough that it makes me want to dig out fabrics and start making a few of the quilts in the book.
There are 11 “Modern-Traditional” quilts included in the book. I sometimes look at modern quilts and they’re too modern for my traditional tastes but every quilt in her is a quilt I would love to make. Just enough modern but just enough tradition . . what a great balance Jo and Kelli achieved.
Be sure to visit Jo’s blog, where she’s having a big giveaway in conjunction with the blog hop. She also has lots of good quilting and other info on her blog so if you’re not familiar with Jo’s Country Junction, plan to spend some time there.
Please check out other bloggers who are participating in the blog hop and see what they have to say about Jo’s book. The bloggers and the days their posts are scheduled to run run are:
March 7th Country Threads http://country-threads-chicken-scratch.com/
March 8th Michelle’s Romantic Tangle http://mychellem.blogspot.com/
March 9th-Quiltville http://quiltville.blogspot.com/
March 11th-Quilt Hollow http://www.quilthollow.com/
March 12th Moda’s Cutting Table http://blog.modafabrics.com/
March 12th Confessions of a Fabric Addict http://www.confessionsofafabricaddict.blogspot.com/
March 13th Julie K Quilts http://juliekquilts.blogspot.com/
March 14th Sweet P Quilting and Creations http://sweetp-paulette.blogspot.com/
Now . . for the fun part. If you would like to be eligible to win a copy of Jo and Kelli’s book, Country Girl Modern, here’s what you do. Look at the quilts listed on Jo’s book store page (the first link in this post) and tell me which quilt you would make first if you were making a quilt from the book. On Monday, March 16, I’ll draw for someone to win their very own copy of Country Girl Modern.
Be sure that you leave an email address with your comment so I can contact the winner. Your email address will not show up in the post if you include your address where the comment form asks for it.
Also, once the winner is notified, you will have 24 hours in which to send me your mailing address. If I do not hear from you within 24 hours, I will choose another winner.
When I announce the winner here, I will tell you which quilt I am feeling inclined to make from Country Girl Modern. I’m actually trying to decide between three of them.
