Last night Vince had been in the sewing room visiting with me and when he started to walk back to the house, he hollered for me to come see the sunset. This is what it looked like looking between the house and the sewing room.
He grabbed the keys and said “Let’s go to the end of the driveway so we can see more!” This is what we saw!
Poor Vince. He was driving along on the shoulder while I ran up and down the road taking photos. A couple of cars passed. I wonder what they thought. They were probably thinking: The wife is mad, she jumped out of the car and he’s trying to convince her to get back in! 🙂

Beautiful! One more great reason to love living where you do…you can take the time to enjoy the sunsets. I live in the greater Seattle area, where I see large homes on high hilltops; the drapes are always closed and seldom is a light shining through. People with great views and great sunset viewing do not have the time to enjoy what is right outside their windows.
I grew up on the plains in SW Minnesota, and I tried hard to never miss the sunset. It is different living in the suburbs of a city with a severe rain reputation, but when there is color in the western sky, you can be sure I am paying attention!

I live north of Seattle, near Bellingham, but in the country. We get spectacular sunsets …but not often in winter when it is usually gray. Gray night and gray day. We have to make our own sunshine!!
I enjoy seeing your beautiful sunset. Thanks for the picture:)

i’m in eastern wa and our sunsets are gorgeous, but because we live in the trees i only get to see the top of sunsets unless i’m out driving through fields. have taken lots of pics to enjoy them later.

As often happens, I laughed so hard reading this post I nearly choked on my Slurpee.

I miss those Seattle sunsets; tracking the progress of the sun over the Olympics. Living here in “paradise,” we don’t get much in the way of sunsets…there aren’t clouds for them to shine on! (If there are clouds, they are a low layer on the ocean, blocking the sunset.) Ah well, I’ve been looking at the weather in the San Juan Islands, and see that there aren’t sunsets there this week. At least we’re having very pleasant weather this week.

you’re right- it is beautiful! where we live we don’t really see the sunrises- just the sun roses… sunsets can be seen a bit more, but only around the trees… just wondering: did I miss anything? are we doing something for 2015? hope so! it won’t seem the same without your mystery quilts, or our UFO challenges!

Your sunset is amazing. Living in Arizona, we often have gorgeous sunsets but your pictures today are gorgeous. I also loved your “wife is mad” thinking. I laughed really hard visualizing this. Too funny!

Ohio here. Beautiful sunset! Reminds me of when DH and I used to pursue sunsets and thunderstorms.

Wasn’t it GORGEOUS!! I kept commenting to my son how beautiful it was! But I think yours was even prettier. You got a bigger expanse of the sky without bldgs. and such being in the way. NICE!

Judy, this post should’ve come with a spew alert! I almost covered my keyboard with tea and that would not be good. But what an incredible sunset. I’ve seen several pictures of the sunset in central Texas yesterday – all of which are spectacular – and I believe it was the angels above gathering to welcome a good man home. One of my friends lost her father yesterday and that gorgeous sunset was very soothing to her. We don’t see a lot of spectacular sunsets here in central Ohio – at least not what I’m used to in New Mexico and Texas. Your pictures so often make me homesick!

Once again you’ve got to love Texas. Yes we have beautiful sunrises and sunset. They come and go so fast around here(Houston area). I generally don’t have time to get the camera before they are gone. I have used my iphone to get a few but it doesn’t do them justice. I always think of them as gifts from God to show us who is really in control around us. thanks for sharing.
I can see you know because I did this one time with a rainbow. Just had to see if could find the end. Stupid I know but it was so close to me. Keep taking the photos and posting so people can enjoy what you and I get to see all the time.
Come on down to Texas you won’t be disappointed we have some of everything just look around.
